Today was a reminder that when the kids get sick...they really get sick. I kept thinking it was just a cold. But then this morning Pete and I decided it would be best to take them to the doctor. So we both went in to work and called when the doctors office opened at 9:15. Appt was for 1:15.
The girls were amazing for the appt. They walked in with me instead of using the wagon (I went solo). They got on the scale no problem, let the doctor listen to each one of them, check their ears, check their noses, check their throats...all times 2 because the doctor was working with a med student. I didn't have to hold any of them. They just sat on the table and turned their head when needed, opened their mouths to say 'ahhhh' and as soon as they were done - they asked for their pop pops! Got off the table, put on hats and glasses & headed for the door. They all got to pick out their own pop pop (dum dum lollipop) and we headed back to the car.
They slept on the way home. I drove through CVS to drop off their Rx's and then came home. That's when the crank came out of them! They were just miserable for the rest of the day. We tried to play in the pool, have snack outside, go to CVS to pick up their meds, take a walk...and although we did all of these things - it wasn't without crying and whining. I get that they're sick but man...x3 just took its toll on me today.
By the time Pete got home I was ready to book out the door! But I stayed. We had dinner, got ready for bed and put the girls down early tonight. Since they didn't take naps today they went down without much of a fight.
Now I just want to sleep! But stuff needs to get done. Cleaning because there is a showing at our condo, laundry (no explanation needed there...), computer stuff and so on. Same stuff...different day.
